New faces join old guard around the captains’ table
Now that the Pembroke County Club agm has taken place it is time to start looking at what clubs have decided in terms of who will skipper their teams for the forthcoming season.
St Ishmaels, who were champions last year, also had their second team promoted, so they have stuck with the same formula for this season. Peter Bradshaw leads the Tish troops and Andrew Williams remains as his lieutenant, with Robbie Thomas heading the seconds and Robbie Riggs his vice-captain.
Carew again have Rob Scourfield as captain and his younger brother Martin will lead the seconds. Old timer Martyn Cole takes charge of the thirds and will certainly be a great help to the club's developing players.
Lyn Richards remains as skipper just up the road at Cresselly and he will have Simon Cole as his deputy in a very experienced side eager to build on second spot last campaign. Richard Arthur and Rhydian Rees are again in charge of the seconds and Phil James has stepped down to lead the thirds with his great enthusiasm an obvious plus alongside Geraint Williams.
Nick Dyer takes over from Adrian Griffiths at Haverfordwest and the former Scottish international will be hoping to take the Town back to the top. Jamie Jenkins, Alan Sexton and Richard Devonald captain the other three teams at the Racecourse.
Llangwm regain their top echelon place with Andrew Ackie' Harries having a second season in charge. James Lewis and Jeremy Brock lead the second and third teams. At the recent club agm Brian James was again voted as secretary/treasurer to continue his mammoth stint and Randall Lewis, Dai Davies and Martyn Inward are the other officers at Pill Parks.
Narberth have a change at the helm as Ritchie Adams takes over from Marc Hughes, with Chris Richards in charge of the seconds and the third team skipper still to be decided.
Just up the road at Whitland there is a major change because Mark Lee has now taken on the skipper's role after Paul Webb led the team for an amazing 17 seasons in two separate stints.
Lawrenny again have Steve Lewis in charge and Simon Chief' Cole is his deputy, with Alun Evans and James Phillips looking after the second team.
Andrew Miller continues his spell as skipper at Neyland with brother Gregg an ebullient vice-captain and where his talented young side are eager for action. Andrew Hansen and Paul Miller take charge of the second string.
Burton set out again in division one with Mike Venables eager to build on his captaincy experiences of last season and Richard Scriven as his vice-captain. Dean Hayes and Steve Jones will be at the helm of the second team, with Graham Morris and Andrew Cromwell keen to use their wealth of experience in charge of the thirds.
